Terms of use
Last updated: 18 March 2025. By using the Strand Web website, customer portal, or our services, you agree to these terms, together with any service-specific terms we provide. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
General
We provide digital services as described on our site and in your order or agreement. We may update features, pricing, or these terms; continued use after notice where required may constitute acceptance. Specific promotions or packages (e.g. hosting inclusions) are subject to the descriptions published at the time you sign up.
Internet services terms
The following applies to Strand Web internet services and installations.
- Fibre and LTE: installation included/free as published; router not included (optional once-off purchase). Air fibre installation and routers are once-off where applicable.
- Internet services are month-to-month. Billing starts when service goes live (debit order or card subscription); thereafter a debit-order mandate applies. We do not run affordability or blacklist checks.
- Installed equipment remains Strand Web property unless purchased by the client.
- If payment is not received or a debit order fails, Strand Web may switch off supply, remove installed equipment, and charge labour for removal.
Domain name registration
The following applies when you request domain registration through Strand Web's customer portal (paid registration or renewal arranged through us).
Role of the parties
You are the registrant of the domain name. You provide accurate registrant and contact information, and you are responsible for keeping it current (including email used for registry and renewal notices). Strand Web is your service provider: we facilitate registration, payment collection where applicable, DNS/hosting integration, and support. We register domains through Amazon Route 53 Domains (or successor registrar arrangements we may use). Registry, ICANN (where applicable), and registrar policies also apply.
Eligibility and ordering
Domain registration features in the portal are offered only to eligible customer accounts (for example, where your hosting product and account status meet our published requirements). We may decline or cancel an order that appears fraudulent, abusive, or non-compliant with registry rules. Availability shown before checkout is not guaranteed until registration completes; names can be registered by others in the meantime.
Fees and payment
Fees for paid registrations are shown before you confirm payment. Card payments are processed by Netcash; Strand Web does not receive or store your full card details. Domain registration and annual renewal fees are billed separately from monthly hosting (see package footnotes). Registry or renewal fees follow registrar pricing and your agreement with us.
Renewals, expiry, and transfers
Domain names are subject to renewal according to registry and registrar rules. You are responsible for renewing before expiry (and for charges associated with renewal). Loss of a domain due to non-renewal, inaccurate contact data, or disputes with registries is at your risk. Transfers to or from another registrar follow registry procedures; contact our support for assistance.
Prohibited use and compliance
You must not use domains registered through us for unlawful activity, infringement, phishing, spam in violation of law, or in breach of registry acceptable-use policies. We may suspend or terminate services (including hosting or DNS) where required by law or serious breach, without prejudice to registry enforcement.
Limitation
We are not liable for failures of third parties (registries, AWS, payment networks), nor for loss arising from incorrect data you supply, or from another party registering a name before our system completes registration. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Intellectual property and acceptable use
Content you provide remains yours where applicable; you grant us the rights needed to deliver the services. You must not misuse our systems, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with other customers.
Privacy
Our processing of personal information (including domain registrant data) is described in our Privacy policy.
